Muyu means "seeds" in kichwa. The design of this necklace brings to mind the very vast amount of seed diversity we have on this planet. Each necessary, each with it's own beauty; all interconnected with one another and part of a wonderful whole. Seeds in the ground reflect the stars of the sky, just as much as it reflects our own complex inner brilliance.
This product was made in Saraguro, Ecuador, by kichwa women who wear traditional necklaces in similar shape, but make new contemporary designs, advancing an indigenous aesthetic into something more modern.
