In Andean ways of thinking, balance is sustained through duality: two forces existing side by side, complementing one another to maintain harmony and world order. The Two Sisters Skirt embodies this principle, its multilayered silhouette inspired by the traditional garments of Andean women and reinterpreted through a contemporary lens to create a piece that can be proudly worn by all.
Designed by Yana Manta (Kinoo Arcentales Cajas) and woven in collaboration with Kichwa families, the textile is expressed through bold black-and-white geometry. Its layered form becomes a landscape in itself—mountains and rivers, earth and water—honoring tradition while opening new possibilities for contemporary wear.
From fabric to finish, the skirt is 100% Indigenous made, affirming sovereignty, slow fashion, and the thriving presence of Indigenous creativity. The Two Sisters Skirt is both rooted in tradition and forward-looking, a living expression of Indigenous Futurism.
Materials: Cotton-acrylic blend fabric.
Each skirt is handmade, with unique variations in pattern and layering.
NOTE: Skirt only available in BLACK. If you would like the version in white, please contact us as this would be a custom order.
