Handmade in Peru using traditional local materials. This piece features spondylus (or spiny oyster), which was used as currency in andean and coastal regions. Spondylus travelled far and wide, becoming a staple material used amongst indigenous nations in southwestern U.S. It comes in orange, red, purple varieties.
