Handmade in Peru using traditional local materials. This piece features spondylus (or spiny oyster), which was used as currency in andean and coastal regions. Spondylus travelled far and wide, becoming a staple material used amongst indigenous nations in southwestern U.S.
Hawa means up in Kichwa, a name inspired by the arrows pointing upwards.
